AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
Hi! I'm Gen Punongbayan,
I initially took up 2 years Nursing course and had a degree on Psychology; But that doesn't prevent me on being one of the advocate out there in the Philippines who focus particularly on the field of financial education and personal development.
I came up with the decision to pay attention on these field because it was clear that most of my friends and colleagues has concern regarding financial and character development matters, and that drives me further learn and share my part.
Finance was long ago a problem for everyone of us. We can always blame our circumstances if we aren't lucky enough to have that silver spoon in our mouth. But blaming absolutely solve the issue. So I come up with a simple solution and that is educating ourselves.
I was like everywhere, to becoming a network marketing leader, to financial consultant in insurance firm, stock market investor, to a person who sold burger in the neighborhood, they're more on the list and having those experience absolutely gave me the feel of life.
I started educating myself on how I will move to a certain point to the next. Reading and knowing about financial matter was just the start; learning how to become an entrepreneur takes almost 50% of your life learning and maintaining. Learning and applying was a never ending process. But it's fairly simple that the more you learn the more you can more given with the right mindset.
Moving from point A to point B is a great task and effort that require discipline and fair amount of time to learn with. It requires will power, faith and persistence to move to a certain point in life. And that's where my journey begin throughout these years.
Most of my areas are personal development, finance and a bit of business. I already felt this was worthy to spend time on. And starting it at an early age will surely makes me don't regret and thankful that I made the decision.
How to turn your struggle to positive and turn it to your success.
Back on my later school year here in Laguna my family were struggling with the fees needed on education we have limited amount of money to pay for school. I decided to apply for SPES a program that government offers to qualified students with decent grades I took it 5 consecutive years to help on the down payments. I never had a scholarship my entire life.
On the year 2009 one of my colleagues back in high school days went to Laguna to offer a business. Back then I have no clues on what they offer since I don't have any back ground on business. From what I see upon him, he was totally change. His name was Danilo Atienza Jr. his right now in Hyundai as a Sales Rep.
He introduce me to a network marketing company the he initially introduce to my sister. When they started working the company and after I heard what is it all about I decided to jump in. It was a mix off struggle but a worthy experience. Specially on the second network company I worked in. I didn't profit to much on the first but the second was fairly a great deal. But unfortunately the company was mismanage it was a little bit frustrating on my side because I already work it out for couple of months working with several good leaders that agreed working together.
Included was an investor who actually put around a lump amount of fund an initial partial fees for opening a branch that went nowhere after the company slows down and never heard off. It was like missing the point of opportunity but I've moved on. I still have a connection to that partner of mine who's actually a very open minded person and who's willing to take risk. He is now in Canada.
On my decision to never quit on my dreams and helping those in need I'm still further learning and enjoying the journey. I search on books, speakers, author that could expand my mind and to set up new proper mindset.
I'm currently employed right now as a call center representative at the same time I am a licensed financial consultant in one of the top Insurance company the country. I've been through some network marketing business and traditional business. I drop some few and stick to what is working for me. I learned stock investing and I'm currently investing in the Philippines Stock Exchange (PSE) back 2012.
I read a lot of books from the author like John C. Maxwell, Napoleon Hill, Paulo Choelo, Robert Kiyosaki, Bro. Bo Sanchez, Francisco Colayco and many more. I continuously do reading new book every month to stretch and expand the frame of our mind. I also love watching videos of Chinkee Tan, Nick Vujicic and other financial expert local and foreign.
Just a simple quote from the book "Talent is Never Enough by John Maxwell"
"If you don't prepare today you'll be repairing tomorrow"
